AASL Licensed Institutes
The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) offers a series of Licensed Institutes - full-day educational workshops available for use anywhere in the country. Download a copy of the Licensed Institutes brochure.
The institutes offer: Flexibility The licensee determines the date, time, location, and size of the audience.
Convenience
AASL provides the presenter, travel and lodging for the presenter, and a master copy of the curriculum.
Affordability
The licensee has the option to charge a fee for the event.
Opportunity
Participants receive up to 8 contact hours.
Experience All presenters are experienced speakers and subject matter experts on their topic.
The Institutes
This Institute provides information, resources, and strategies that will help define advocacy and facilitate the development of long-term advocacy action plans for school library media programs. This Institute will incorporate various tools available to school librarians, including the AASL Advocacy toolkit of online resources, the marketing resources developed through the ALA @ your library campaign, and the resources that will assist school librarians in developing an advocacy action plan that goes beyond PR and marketing.
