HomeLibrary Services to the Sandwich Generation Bibliography
Library Services to the Sandwich Generation Bibliography
Thanks to the ALLS Library Service to the Sandwich Generation Discussion Group for their work compiling this list.
Call them Baby Boomers, Generation S, or the Sandwich Generation, those born between 1946 and 1964, are once again charting new courses in culture, economics, and history. As people live longer and begin families later, aging Baby Boomers find themselves entangled in a uniquely intergenerational family mix. At any given time they may be simultaneously parenting their aging parents, or parenting their own children in several stages: very young/adolescent, boomerang, or simply adult children who choose to live at home. Each aspect of this parenting composite has a specific financial requirement. Add to this rather volatile mixture the needs of a partner as well as the emotional and spiritual needs of the individual and the “sandwiched” finds herself or himself squeezed.
This selected bibliography includes articles, books, magazines, newsletters, pamphlets, videotapes, and s that address the various information needs of those caught in the middle and provides links to other sources both print and electronic. A descriptor in all caps follows each title.
