EVERY CHILD READY TO READ @ YOUR LIBRARY(r) MATERIALS AVAILABLE

Promoting early literacy is part of what your library does every day. To help you, PLA partnering with ALSC (Association for Library Service to Children), has developed the Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library training tools. Research from the PLA/ALSC Early Literacy Initiative has been incorporated into this program of training for parents and caregivers of preschool children from newborn to five years. Training kits and individual components of the kit are available for sale on the PLA web page at www.pla.org/earlyliteracy.htm . The web page is full of helpful information about the program and early literacy.

NEW! General information brochures are available to let your community know how the library helps promote and build on the early literacy efforts of parents and schools. Brochures provide research-based information about early literacy, what parents/caregivers can do to help their children get ready to read and how the library can help. Visit the www.pla.org/earlyliteracy.htm click on the "Order Separate Components" link.
