Legislation

To formulate and recommend to the Public Library Association Board of Directors legislative objectives which promote and enhance public libraries and librarianship. To take appropriate steps to increase the awareness of public librarians and public supporters of the legislative process and to motivate their participation in legislative activity at all levels of government. To monitor legislation at various levels of government and to inform the PLA Board and membership of legislation relevant to public libraries and to recommend action as appropriate. To maintain a liaison relationship with the ALA Legislation Committee, the Legislation Assembly, and other groups with like interests.
