To foster the principles of intellectual freedom among public librarians; to advise PLA on matters relating to intellectual freedom; to make recommendations for action to the PLA Board of Directors; and to serve as liaison to the Freedom to Read Foundation, the ALA Intellectual Freedom Round Table, and the ALA Intellectual Freedom Committee.
