To identify and disseminate resources for libraries to use to assist adults gain reading and writing skills that enhance their abilities to function in everyday life. Committee activities include the development of resource lists of books, multimedia products and websites to benefit the target population; collaborations with the Office of Literacy and Outreach Services and other ALA units to support services to the target population; publications of best practices and partnerships that advance library/adult literacy services via conference programs, publications and web presence.
