To select on an annual basis, as appropriate, a publisher, bookseller, hardware and/or software dealer, foundation, or similar group (i.e., not an individual), which has made a significant contribution to the advancement of literacy and to award a symbol of this contribution at the annual meeting of the American Library Association.
