Talking to the Media

The popularity and impact of the library during an economic downturn is of interest to many in the media and presents a prime opportunity to showcase the value of the library as well as the need for sustained-- if not increased – funding and support.

Before engaging the media, make sure you know and follow your libraries' policies and procedures. If possible, meet with staff or colleagues who have experience in working with the media. The best way to get good media coverage is to make it easy for the media to cooperate.
