American Association of School Librarians
The mission of the American Association of School Librarians is to advocate excellence, facilitate change, and develop leaders in the school library media field. AASL works to ensure that all members of the school library media field collaborate to: provide leadership in the total education program, participate as active partners in the teaching/learning process, connect learners with ideas and information, and prepare students for life-long learning, informed decision-making, a love of reading, and the use of information technologies.

Association for Educational Communications & Technology
The mission of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology is to provide leadership in educational communications and technology by linking professionals holding a common interest in the use of educational technology and its application to the learning process.

CCLI
The California Clearinghouse for Library Instruction (CCLI) facilitates the sharing of information about library instruction.

EDUCAUSE
The mission of EDUCAUSE is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology.

IFLA Information Literacy Section
Information Literacy Section of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (formerly the Round Table on User Education). Focuses on all aspects of user education including information literacy, learning styles, the use of computers, networked resources, and media in the development of instructional programmes, distance education, and the training of librarians in user education.

Instruction Section
The Instruction Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries enhances the ability of academic and research librarians to advance learning, teaching and research with respect to information literacy in higher education.

LIRT - Library Instruction Round Table
A roundtable of the American Library Association advocating library instruction as a means for developing competent library and information use as a part of lifelong learning. LIRT membership represents all types of libraries (academic, public, school, and special) committed to this goal.

sCIL (formerly CCLI South)

Information Literacy Community Partnerships Toolkit
An initiative of ACRL's Institute for Information Literacy and one of ALA President Nancy Kranich's initiatives for her 2000 - 2001 presidential term. The overall goal of the effort is to build information literacy community partnerships. These partnerships will bring together librarians from school, academic, public and special libraries and community members/organizations to help prepare the public to utilize information efficiently and effectively.

Think Tank III
A series of live, online events developed by ACRL's Instruction Section which took place in October and November of 1999. Think Tank III brought together a small group of librarians and educational technologists from around the country to present papers on critical information literacy issues and reflect on the future direction of library instruction in higher education.
