ACRL CUPA-HR Position Descriptions of Academic Librarians Task Force
The CUPA-HR Position Descriptions of Academic Librarians Task Force will review the existing library job positions used by CUPA-HR in its salary survey in order to determine if revisions to these descriptions are required. Specifically, are the existing titles and descriptions in need of modification; should any of the existing positions be eliminated; should any new positions be added. As needed, the Task Force should review a broad spectrum of current academic librarian position descriptions and identify those most relevant to today’s librarians. During the course of its work the Task Force will maintain an open and interactive working relationship with CUPA and ACRL staff to ensure that the number of new positions CUPA-HR will accept is reflected in the recommendations. The Task Force will also insure that the leadership and membership of ACRL have an opportunity to comment on the revised descriptions and guide the process.
The chair of the Task Force should be an ACRL member who participated on the previous CUPA-HR Task force. Otherwise, the appointment of members to the Task Force is at the discretion of the ACRL President.

The ACRL CUPA-HR Position Descriptions of Academic Librarians Task Force was established by the ACRL Board of Directors via a virtual vote in September, 2012.
