Women & Gender Studies Section


The Women & Gender Studies Section (WGSS) of the Association of College & Research Libraries was formed to discuss, promote, and support women's studies collections and services in academic and research libraries.

As of August 2015, WGSS had 589 members. WGSS members are wide-ranging and include personal, organizational and corporate memberships. Members include librarians and other professionals, working and retired. WGSS welcomes new members and their ideas. WGSS offers many opportunities to get involved in committee work, program planning, and professional exchange.


The Women's Studies Section was established in 1987. In 2011, the section changed its name to Women & Gender Studies Section. At its 25th anniversary, the history of the section was presented.
