Assistant Engineering Librarian, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 1987-1994; Engineering Librarian, then Coordinator of Science and Engineering Resources and Services, University of Kansas, 1994-2000; Head, Engineering Library, University of Washington, March 2000 - . I'm a member of ACRL/STS and of the Engineering Libraries Division (ELD) of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). I regularly attend both the ASEE and ACRL national conferences and often attend ALA Annual and Midwinter. My major current interest is in changing the existing scholarly communication process and in how advocating and facilitating changes to that process will prove beneficial to libraries, their collections, and their clientele. Also interested in integration of information literacy skills into the sci-tech curricula and in marketing of appropriate library collections and services to particular user populations.

Twelve years academic library experience with ten in science and technology and two as Head of Reference in a medium academic (non-ARL) library. At CSU I have collection development, reference and instruction responsibilities for agriculture, forestry, and wildlife areas. Current projects include working on an NEH grant with Cornell Univ. for Preservation of Agriculture and Rural Life Literature of Colorado. I am also working on an information literacy program with science faculty and LOTS of collection development projects. I have worked with Blackwell to set up purchase plans and I have chaired a serials assessment task force for our library. I have been active in ACRL sections (STS and IS), including chair and committee member experience. I am also active in USAIN.
