EXPERIENCE/EXPERTISE:
My library experience has included public services and administrative positions in ARL science libraries. I came to librarianship with a doctorate in Chemistry and have maintained an interest in that specialization. I have worked on many aspects of automated systems doing training and documentation as well as on screen design for locally-mounted databases. I am involved in UIC's digital library activities, working on our Web pages, and dealing with electronic databases and journals. My research focuses on scientists' use of information technology. I am currently employed in an institution where librarians have full faculty status with all the attendant obligations for research and publication. I would be happy to serve as a resource for new librarians with concerns in that area.
