Hot Topics Discussion Group - Web Tools for Library Assessment: Focus on SurveyMonkey

Library Assessment is like the quest for the Holy Grail. It changes form(at), and is simultaneously elusive and powerful. Several survey designers and users from STM libraries describe their experiences with  SurveyMonkey - the strengths and weaknesses of the product and comparisons with other survey tools. Questions and discussion of audience experiences are highly encouraged.

This discussion is coordinated jointly by the STS Annual Hot Topics Discussion Group and STS Assessment Committee.

College Science Librarians Discussion Group - Replacing Subscriptions: Article Access Via Pay Per View

Is your library seeking a way to stay within its materials budget and still satisfy the needs of student and faculty for access to periodical articles? The Trinity University Library cancelled subscriptions from one major publisher and switched to a pay-per-view model. In this discussion, Trinity librarians will address budgetary dilemmas, public relations, faculty input, and student issues in a pay-per-view environment. A representative from the APA will offer comments from the professional society and publishing point of view.
