Information Literacy Web Site Committee

Charge

This committee oversees development and promotion of the ACRL information literacy web site and creates opportunities for ACRL members, sections, and partners to contribute to an international information literacy resource and gateway for the higher education community. The committee identifies and solicits content for inclusion on the site; appoints an editor to manage and update the site; creates policies and procedures related to site administration; recommends site enhancements in response to new technological developments; and collects data for usability assessment and site improvement.

Composition

  • A minimum of five members (i.e. a chair, vice-chair, and three members)
  • Chair serves as ex-officio on the ACRL Information Literacy Coordinating Committee
  • Additional appointments at the discretion of the Vice-President/President-Elect and Appointments Committee

Origin

The Information Literacy Standards Committee was established in 2008 as part of the new Information Literacy Coordinating Committee structure.
