The Chapters Council shall consist of the President (Chair) and Vice-President (Vice-Chair) of each ACRL chapter or a delegate who is a member of the Executive Board of the chapter. Each member of the Chapters Council shall be a member of the national association. Each chapter shall have one vote.
The elected officers of the Chapters Council are the Chair, Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect, Past-Chair, and Secretary. These officers serve as the Chapters Council Executive Committee.
The Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect and Secretary are elected by the Chapters Council at its meetings during the Annual Conference, the choice being made from among the Chapters Council delegates. The Council Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect serves as Chair during his/her second year on the Council, and as Past Chair during his/her third year.
Chapters Council meets at the ALA Annual Conference and Midwinter Meeting, holding both a Council meeting and a work session. Minutes for each are posted on the Chapters Council ALA Connect space.
Chapters Council was established by the ACRL Board of Directors.
Volunteer with ACRL
Volunteer applications for ACRL division-level committees are accepted through February 15 for service the following committee term, which begins July 1.
