Share the Wealth and WIN!
As an AASL member you know the value that your membership provides in advancing your career and strengthening your profession. This is your opportunity to “Share the Wealth” that AASL has given you over the years with your colleagues.
By communicating with your friends, colleagues, and state association about the wealth of benefits offered through AASL membership you not only extend AASL’s reach, recognition, and resources - but you could also be a winner!
For each new member you recruit, your name will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a complimentary year of AASL membership and the grand prize drawing of an AASL 17th National Conference & Exhibition package (registration, airfare, and hotel accommodations).
The more new members you recruit, the more chances you have to win, so refer a new member today!
Program Details & How To Participate
This program is offered through AASL and not ALA. Any membership applications received by ALA or processed online will not be sent to AASL for inclusion in the Share the Wealth campaign (or entered into the drawings).
In order to receive credit for your referral the membership acceptance form must be mailed, faxed, or scanned and emailed directly to AASL:
American Association of School Librarians
ATTN: Share the Wealth Campaign
50 E. Huron St.
Chicago, IL 60611-2795
For each referral:
Your name will be entered into a monthly drawing for a complimentary year of AASL membership (a $50 value).
Your name will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a complimentary AASL 17th National Conference & Exhibition registration, airfare to Columbus, Ohio, and a three night hotel stay.
Multiple referrals will be entered. For example, if you refer three members in April, your name will be entered into the April drawing three times and the grand prize drawing three times. If you refer one member in January, one in February, and one in March, your name will be entered once into the January, February and March’s drawings and you will receive three entries in the grand prize drawing.
- Know the benefits of AASL membership and get personal.
Everyone has their ‘favorite’ member benefit (review the list), but what has made the greatest difference for your practice? Was there a great article in Knowledge Quest you remember? A tricky question that your colleagues helped you with on AASLForum? Or were you able to catch up on missed sessions from AASL national conference on eCOLLAB?
Consider what your colleague needs and how AASL can assist. As a solo librarian the amount of networking and collaboration may be a benefit. AASL’s advocacy tools and resources may be helpful for someone trying to make inroads with a new administrator. If funding is limited the amount of free online professional development could be invaluable.
- Emphasize that membership benefits the profession - a strong AASL is good for the entire school library community.
Don’t forget to ensure your name is submitted with each membership acceptance form! Print out the form and write in your name or send with a note asking that your name be included on the referrer's line.
