Why are connections with educators so essential to school librarians? Participants will delve into the National School Library Standards and available resources to make authentic and purposeful connections with educators. Participants will create an action plan to help them plan, record, and amplify the results of their connections.

Learning Outcomes

  • Participants will identify starting points to create educator connections through the National School Library Standards.
  • Participants will develop an action plan for making connections and amplifying their results to inspire more connections with other educators.

Kathleen Riopelle Roberts

Kathleen Riopelle Roberts is a school librarian at Rivers Edge Elementary in Henrico County, VA. As a member of the AASL Standards and Guidelines Editorial Board, Kathleen brought the building level school librarian voice to the group and process. Kathleen has presented at both the state and national school library levels and contributed to LMC and Knowledge Quest. Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys hiking, reading and yoga.
