Cost: $50

Join the Independent Section (ISS) for a daytime tour of independent schools in the San Francisco area:

Katherine Delmar Burke School has a unique 3.5-acre campus in the Sea Cliff neighborhood of San Francisco. Its 5,500 square foot school library, located in the heart of the campus, provides a robust K-8 program for students as well as full service to the entire community. Blending the tried-and-true with innovation, the library promotes 21st century teaching and learning in its own curriculum and throughout the school. In addition, the library serves individual students in their independent research and recreational reading. The collection is deep, diverse, and tailored to meet the needs of students, faculty, and families. The library curriculum focuses on three areas—information literacy, literature appreciation, and the social context of 21st century learning.

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, in the heart of San Francisco’s cultural center, has the largest high school library in Northern California. Covering 12,000 square feet, the school library program offers students an academic experience that prepares them for university-level research. During collaboration periods, the SHC library becomes a hub of activity with up to 200 students studying, reading, using the most up-to-date technology, working on group projects and sharing conference rooms. The library’s lofty top-floor location welcomes students with natural light, beautiful panoramic views of San Francisco and a quiet scholarly environment.

Departing from the Moscone Center, attendees are sure to have a variety of insights! Lunch will be provided. Pre-registration is required.
