Candidate Statement

Eight years ago I began my career as an independent school librarian. I feel lucky to have found my niche in independent schools and lucky to be in a supportive school that gives me the autonomy to create a great library program. I am most proud of the creation of my student advocacy group, Library Leaders, who promote the library amongst the student body. I am also very proud to have developed a robust fiction collection in the school library, which has allowed me to promote a lifelong love of reading amongst students. Finally, I am pleased to be a part of the important networks of ISS, AISL, BAISL, as well as a small cohort of San Francisco high school librarians who meet monthly to share goals, ideas, and support each other.
