RUSA selects Spectrum Scholar for internship
CHICAGO—The Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) has selected Kelvin Watson, a 2007 Spectrum Scholar attending the School of Library and Information Sciences at North Carolina Central University, Durham, as the 2008 RUSA Intern.
As an intern with RUSA, Watson will work for 1.5 years with RUSA’s vice-president/president-elect, David Tyckoson, head of Public Services, Henry Madden Library,
Watson has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a minor in military science from

RUSA selects one Spectrum Scholar each year to receive the $3,000 travel grant and work with RUSA’s vice president. The ALA Spectrum Initiative provides $5,000 scholarships to students from the following underrepresented groups: African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino and Native American.
