Hundreds of public and school libraries, classrooms, and bookstores across the country will celebrate this year's Teen Read Week theme "It's Alive! @ your library," which encourages teens to read books about mysteries, forensics, science fiction, horror and the world around them for the "fun of it."

Teen Read Week is a national literacy initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association. The initiative is aimed at teens, their parents, librarians, educators, booksellers and other concerned adults. It began in 1998 and has been celebrated the third week in October
