Successful Fundraising for Libraries: What works now?In the information age, there is no more important community resource than the local library. When librarians, volunteers, and Trustees "make the case" for the library, the community will support its needs with memberships, donations, major gifts, grants, and sponsorships. You will learn how to research the best funding sources and build strong relationships for the library with grant makers. Even better, you will learn how to develop dependable, renewable, internally-controlled income streams from local residents. The format includes minimal lecture, participatory exercises including small group planning, one-on-ones, role plays, discussions, and case studies. This workshop is designed for a two-day presentation, but can be compressed into one day.
Presenter: Joan Flanagan Who should attend: librarians, library directors, trustees, friends groups, volunteers, from novice to experienced fundraisers.
